Imagine an industry where seventy percent of your products lose money. You knit ten different types of wool socks. Seven don’t sell enough to cover the cost of the wool, while the other three are so popular they’re capable of keeping the whole enterprise afloat. This is the basic math of…

The God of Cake
The God of Cake is still one of my fave Hyperbole and a Half entries. It just hits so close to home. Also this line: “No one could tell me not to eat an entire cake - not my mom, not Santa, not God - no one. I would eat cake whenever I damn well pleased. It was my cake and everyone else could go fuck themselves.”

Superhero Knee-Highs
DC Superhero Socks of the Day: These DC superhero knee-high socks, found at 80stees.com, have capes.
Why capes? Well, if we’ve learned anything from Superman, it’s that a cape is essential for preserving a secret identity.
Sure, no one is likely to suspect that your mild-mannered left foot is also an alien with superpowers, but it’s best not to take chances.

The Stages of Smell at NYCC
I think I got this down. But I could be wrong. Here are the several stages of smells at New York Comic Con. They are divided by time.
***
Morning: Popcorn, glee, excitement, perhaps even a bit of pee (due to the excitement).
Early Afternoon: A little sweat. Mostly stale air.
Later in the afternoon: Fart. Everything smells like a fart.
Evening: Sweat. Layers and layers of sweat.

New York Comic Con is taking all my money.
But I don’t care. Look at all the lovelies I bought:
I bought a bunch of postcards from Cliff Chiang from his re-imaginings. I REALLY wanted the Wonder Woman as the Runaways (an image of it is up on his website) but I haven’t gotten it yet. Maybe on the third day of the Con?? It is so cool!
Got this lovely print as well. I initially resisted but then I COULDN’T stop my feet...
