GCC: Spot Dessert Bar
For this episode of The Great Cupcake Challenge the GCC Team headed over to Spot Dessert Bar (http://www.spotdessertbar.com).
As usual we tried one of each of the cupcakes offered at Spot, which gets high points for service with a smile.
Here’s a picture of the very attractive cakes before we dove in (yes, that is edible glitter in the frostings):

NYCC: Swag
Out of all the goodies I snagged at the Con, this was by far by favorite.
Is that Baby Ironman sticker, you ask? Why yes, yes it is. And it is AWESOME. It was created by Chandra Free and you can see the rest of her artwork on her website: www.spookychan.com
I wonder if I can get a print of this? It belongs on my wall.

I Really Should be Sleeping
But instead I can’t stop reading AIR by G. Willow Wilson. The series ended a bit ago, but I wasn’t able to catch up until now. I’ve had them stacked up by my bed for weeks, once I started reading them I couldn’t stop!
I’ll be paying for this in the morning, I just know it. Totally worth it though.
Business Cards
I asked my awesome designer friend Jamie Schneider to design a business card for me. I had no idea what I wanted and I knew the sensible thing would be to have “Writer” on there but who wants a sensible business card? No one. With not much to go on, Jamie asked me what I wanted under my name. I jokingly said “Master of the Universe,” because…why not? A few minutes...

The Death of Con
a.k.a. the last day of New York Comic Con.
There was far too much going on at the NY Con this year, how will I ever get it all down? Answer: Bullet points!
No matter how proactive you are, you will never see everything the Con has to offer. So be prepared. Check out what panels you want to see, which artists you want to visit and which booth is where to make the best of your Con visit....

New York Comic Con: Day 2
I need new feet. What aisle of the Con are new feet on? Although they’d probably be crazy expensive like the $4 bottle of diet coke my friend had to buy.
Sigh.
I did manage to make it to one panel tonight as well and I was very happy about this one as well! The Women of Battlestar Galactica!
Right after my feet/legs/whole body decided they’d had about enough once again. But the...

New York Comic Con: Day 1
I survived day one. After working from 9am to 3:30pm at my company’s booth I stepped out into the Con and enjoyed my first panel of the night:
The Image Writers Panel!
I’m so glad I made it to this panel as it was my only of the night. Right after my feet started killing me and my stomach (which only had 4 twizzlers and toast to get it through the day) decided it had about enough.

GCC: Magnolia
The famous Magnolia Bakery. The lines. The SATC references. The Lazy Sunday video. The sprinkles. Yes, Magnolia, the people of NYC know you well. Some love you, some hate you. Some couldn’t give a flying crap.
So I suppose it was fate that led the GCC team to you for our second outing. And what an outing it was. There was - of course - a line, after two minutes on said line a young...

GCC: Amy's Bread
After reading an interesting article about the Best Cupcake in NYC - that I disagreed with very much - I decided that I wanted to set off on my own Great Cupcake Challenge (GCC).
The people in the article had only gone to a handful of cupcake shops in NY (are you crazy!?!?!) so for my challenge I would visit ALL of them. You heard me, all of them.
Since I’ve set no time frame for this...
Umm, hi.
